Are there any specific skills or areas of expertise that you find particularly valuable in your role?

Faunalytics is also currently researching methods for meat reduction in China, a subject at the top of the agenda for countless figures in the plantbased business world at present. These days I’m generally able to keep graphic imagery of animal suffering out of my every day work, but I see the data (e.g. Faunalytics’ Global Slaughter Statistics resources), and that knowledge is always there. I no longer feel the need to “bear witness” because I know that suffering exists, and likely will until the day I die.

Faunalytics’ original studies provide actionable and insightful data to improve animal advocacy. This year, led by our experienced researcher director Jo, we produced seven major research projects. Faunalytics’ Original Research and Research Library are vital programs, but the Research Support branch of our work is just as important. Through resources like our Office Hours, Research Advice hub, ambassador presentations, and annual symposium, we’re able to help advocates understand how use research in an active way.

The Top U.S. Cities with Climate-Friendly Food Policies

Faunalytics has several studies in progress that will support the efforts of vegan business owners and advocates alike. For example, our upcoming survey on trends in veganism will help us get to the bottom of how our primary audience is growing. • Making that career switch was one of the best decisions I made, because it not only allowed me to support Prop 12, but it eventually led me to Faunalytics, where I started the day after election day.
